I enjoy every part of the process involved in creating a painting from the initial excitement of sketching out ideas, to the exploration of colors, values and shapes. Recreating for the viewer that spark that caught my attention in the beginning and enabling them to see it too is always one of my goals.
Painting allows me to be able to experience in part the joy that the Master Creator must feel about His creation. I often start with an under-painting of a dark rich color and it is exciting to me to see the painting emerge out of this dark value into the light.
I’m currently working in acrylics on canvas and in oil pastels on paper. Acrylics give me the opportunity to experiment with layering colors and oil pastels offer unique textures and bright colors..
